MM2H Latest Requirements. Better or Worse?

I have a few friends who owns an agency (which now have to reapply for their license) and one friend who used to work for an agency but has since decided to continue her retirement instead. Well, too many uncertainties are certainly not good for the industry lah. Not good for the applicants too if they are unsure of the requirements, how to make decision yeah. This is a huge decision because they will come and stay here for many years or perhaps even for a very long time. Maybe some will bring their families too.
Here’s that latest update by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing. Article in malaymail.com New participants of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme in all three categories — Platinum, Gold and Silver — are not eligible to apply for permanent resident (PR) status, according to Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
He said, “Through this new approach, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) is confident that the MM2H Programme will attract prospective participants from the target groups, especially high net-worth individuals and digital nomads, to make Malaysia their top destination.
Detailed criteria and application requirements for the Platinum, Gold and Silver categories are as follows: the Platinum category requires a fixed deposit of US$1 million, the Gold category requires US$500,000, and the Silver category requires US$150,000.
Tiong said agents approved for the MM2H Tourism Business Operation Licence with the new requirements can begin submitting new participant applications at the One-Stop Centre, Malaysia My Second Home (OSC MM2H) in Putrajaya. Article in malaymail.com
Malaysia is a great place and there are no other similar countries
Some say these requirements is worse than some countries, some say these requirements are now better than previously, truth is, requirements are all secondary. If you are deciding between Malaysia or another potential country, as long as you qualify, you qualify, else feel free to go to another country which you qualify. However, there are NO other countries providing you with everything which one country can provide yeah.
Super briefly. We are very AFFORDABLE. We are full of people who could speak English or Mandarin or Cantonese or Hokkien and more! We have world class beaches.. island.. mountains… and forests which are older than most other countries. We have enough shopping to make you spend non-stop if you wanted to. We have enough world class universities, international schools and you can graduate with a local uni, UK uni, Australia Uni and many other qualifications just from Malaysia itself. I shall write an article and expand on these points and more but I hope you understand that if you are considering and you qualify for MM2H, it’s better to choose the best. IMHO. Cheers.
